Terrorism - are you covered?

News > Terrorism – are you covered?
Eiffel Tower

With so many tragic events in the news recently, a timely reminder to our clients that terrorism is a standard exclusion on all policies written on a commercial insurance basis. This exclusion also applies to let houses as the Government only provides cover to owner occupied residences.  Policies can be extended to include this cover and the premiums do vary upon the premises’ location.

If you do not have this extended cover and would like a quotation for this additional cover, please contact your normal Account Handler who will be pleased to assist.

The rules regarding terrorism insurance do require that cover can only be arranged if all properties are covered. Unfortunately it is not possible to arrange cover on some properties and not others. For larger properties, we can sometimes arrange alternative insurance cover without this requirement.

Even in the present climate, the chances of a terrorist attack affecting your own building are remote, but the results can be catastrophic. We would therefore recommend that all businesses at least consider this additional cover. Contact your usual Account Handler for further information and advice.
