Over the past few years fire issues with Whirlpool appliances have been widely reported and the company are stepping up efforts to ensure all affected machines are made safe.
Whirlpool have written to The Association of British Insurers (ABI) to raise awareness of the latest issues.
In December Whirlpool alerted customers to a safety risk concerning certain models of Hotpoint and Indesit washing machines. Whirlpool are urging owners of such appliances purchased since 2014 to contact them immediately to check if their washing machine is one of the models affected.
